Grandmaster Sergei Zhigalko is the 2003 U14 World Champion and the silver medalist of the 2009 World Junior Championship. Sergei is one of the leaders of the Belarusian chess national team and the winner of numerous junior and adult chess tournaments.
For several years, Sergei was in the top 20 World Juniors FIDE list. Since 2009, Sergei has been one of the top 100 players in the world. Sergei was number 82 in the world, with rating of 2656 on July 2010 FIDE rating list.
